HOME- The St. Stephen's Altar Guild
The Altar Guild at Saint Stephen's is a wonderful group of
very dedicated people. They praise
God and minister to the people of Saint Stephen's by faithfully
preparing His Altar for each worship service so that it will
express the beauty and reverence which God deserves. They
work diligently behind the scenes to make sure that everything is in
place for the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, Holy Baptism, and all
the other services of the Church.
- Altar Guild members launder and care for the altar linens, polish the silver and brass, set out the wine and the bread, prepare the candles, and set up for Sunday services. They also perform these same preparations for weddings, funerals, and other special services. They make sure that we have a good supply of bread, wine, candles, and linens. They also are responsible for changing altar hangings, cleaning and pressing linens, and tidying up after services. In addition, they train the St. Stephen's acolytes in their duties.
